PCBA module end-of-line inspection for barcode, image, video, and FlexCheck review in one pass.

FlexIPS inspects the critical modules on every PCBA at the end of the SMT line: serial and recipe read, full-board quality image, handling trace video, focused critical-module vision checks, PASS/FAIL routing, and structured FlexCheck review for every failed board.

One pass, four outcomes

Every PCBA leaves the line with a complete record.

A single FlexIPS station at the end of your SMT line replaces fragmented barcode readers, inspection cameras, MES logging, diverter logic, and manual re-review with one synchronized workflow.

Step 1

Identify board

Decode the PCB or panel serial and select the correct product-specific inspection program.

Step 2

Capture evidence

Acquire a controlled full-board image and record handling video for the serialized unit.

Step 3

First Article Inspection

Check the critical modules on the PCBA — presence, alignment, label, and recipe-defined zones.

Step 4

Route verdict

PASS boards continue to the stacker; FAIL boards are diverted to FlexCheck for review.

Purpose-built for SMT

Capabilities engineered for PCBA module end-of-line inspection.

Each capability maps to a real EOL risk: unreadable serials, missing critical parts, shifted modules, label mismatches, unproven handling damage, and failed boards reaching the good stack.

PCB Barcode and Recipe Control

Read 1D or 2D panel and board serials at line speed, match the serial to the work order, and load the correct PCBA inspection recipe automatically.

Full-Board Quality Image

Capture a calibrated high-resolution image of the full PCBA, then store it against the serial as visual proof of the final end-of-line condition while focused checks run on the critical modules.

Handling Trace Video

Record the infeed, inspection, diverter, and stacker sequence as a serial-linked video clip so handling damage and containment cases can be reviewed quickly.

FAIL Routing to FlexCheck

Prevent failed PCBAs from entering the good stack by driving the diverter and sending each failed board to FlexCheck with the captured image and defect region.

Reference Overlay in FlexCheck

Overlay the captured board on the golden reference image with adjustable opacity to confirm missing components, shifted parts, and label issues.

Mark & Classify Defects

Operators mark the failed region, assign a defect class, confirm or override the result, and create structured data for traceability, Pareto analysis, and process improvement.

PCB traceability evidence

More than a verdict. A searchable quality record for every PCBA.

PCBA quality teams need fast answers when a customer reports a missing part, damaged board, label mismatch, or handling mark. FlexIPS stores the serial, recipe, full-board image, handling video, verdict, and FlexCheck decision in one record.

Serialized inspection record

Board serial, recipe, full-board image, handling video, inspection result, operator action, and timestamp stay linked in one searchable record.

Faster quality containment

A suspected escape can be reviewed from the stored image and video without searching AOI folders, camera PCs, or disconnected spreadsheets.

Process feedback

Confirmed defect classes feed trend reports for missing components, misalignment, label issues, and handling damage.

FlexCheck review

Failed PCBAs go to FlexCheck before they reach the good stack.

When a board fails inspection, FlexIPS routes it to the FlexCheck review station with the captured image, failed region, serial, and recipe. The operator compares it with the golden reference image, classifies the defect, and confirms whether the board is rework, scrap, or a controlled false reject.

  • Overlay failed board on the reference image with adjustable opacity
  • Draw regions and assign defect classes such as missing, misaligned, or shifted
  • Override to PASS for false rejects, or confirm FAIL with one click
  • Every classification is logged against the PCB serial for traceability and trend reporting
FlexDashboard analytics

FlexCheck decisions, PCB images, videos, and trace records consolidate in FlexDashboard.

Quality and production teams get one traceability and analysis platform for board serials, recipes, PASS/FAIL verdicts, FlexCheck classifications, cycle times, images, videos, and defect trends.

Universal integration

Connects to the SMT line, review station, and quality database.

FlexIPS bridges IT and OT without custom middleware, from SMEMA conveyor handshakes and diverter outputs to MES genealogy records.

SMEMA & Conveyor

Standard SMEMA signal handshaking with upstream AOI, downstream stacker, and conveyor transport, with board present, ready, busy, and fault states handled natively.

SMEMA24V I/O

MES & Traceability

Panel serial, board serial, work order, recipe version, image, video, verdict, and FlexCheck review written directly to your MES or SQL store for full genealogy.

OPC UAREST API

Diverter Control

PASS/FAIL relay output drives the conveyor diverter directly, so failed boards are physically routed to FlexCheck before they can enter the accepted stack.

PCBA module end-of-line inspection FAQ

Common questions from SMT and PCBA quality teams.

End-of-line barcode read, full-board image, handling video, vision checks, and FlexCheck review, answered for SMT and traceability teams.

What is PCBA end-of-line inspection?

PCBA end-of-line (EOL) inspection is a machine vision check performed at the end of the SMT or PCBA line that verifies a finished board before it is released. FlexIPS reads the board barcode and recipe, captures a full-board quality image, records a handling trace video, and runs focused vision checks on the critical modules, all in one pass, so every board ships with proof.

What does PCBA end-of-line inspection check?

FlexIPS does not try to inspect every part on the board. It targets the critical modules defined per recipe — typically connectors, processors, power components, oscillators, labels, and other high-risk or customer-specified zones — checking presence, alignment, and label correctness. The full-board image and handling trace video are also captured for every unit, giving you evidence as well as a pass/fail.

How does FlexCheck help after a PCB fails inspection?

FlexCheck opens the captured board image, overlays it with the golden reference, and lets the operator classify the defect or perform a controlled override. Every review decision is logged against the serial, so you have an auditable record of what was found and how it was handled.

Can the station connect to an SMT conveyor and MES?

Yes. The station exchanges SMEMA and 24V I/O signals with conveyors to control PASS/FAIL routing, and writes serial, recipe, image, video, verdict, and review data to MES, SQL, or OPC UA interfaces, bridging the line and your traceability system without middleware.

How fast is PCBA end-of-line inspection?

A full board (barcode read, image capture, video, and all critical-module checks) completes within a normal station cycle, so the inspection keeps pace with the SMT line and never becomes the bottleneck.

Why capture an image and video of every board?

The stored image and handling video are your evidence. If a defect is reported in the field, you can pull the exact board by serial and see its final image, how it was handled at the station, and the pass/fail verdict, turning a days-long investigation into a seconds-long lookup.

Does it support multiple board variants?

Yes. The barcode or MES record selects the matching inspection recipe automatically, so one station can run many board variants without manual changeover. Each variant is verified against its own component list and inspection zones.
